Visually, this champagne is adorned with a pale gold colour and moves with fine, lively bubbles, promising incomparable pleasure. Aromas of flowers, ripe, candied and dried citrus fruits, as well as marzipan and gingerbread stimulate the nose.Notes of hazelnut, nougat, barley sugar, fruit and citrus jelly, almonds, brioche and honey explode in the mouth.

STORY BEHIND THE LABEL

Krug Grande Cuvée was born from the dream of a man, Joseph Krug, who wished to offer, every year, the best possible champagne, regardless of climatic hazards. Maison Krug therefore pays homage to its vision by offering, each year, a new edition of Krug Grande Cuvée, the most generous expression of champagne.

Created around the 2016 harvest, Krug Grande Cuvée 172nd Edition is a blend of 146 wines from 11 different years, the youngest dating from 2016 and the oldest from 1998.In total, reserve wines from the House’s vast wine library represent 42% of the final blend and ensure the breadth and roundness essential to each Krug Grande Cuvée Edition.In total, more than 20 years of meticulous work were required to appreciate this Krug Grande Cuvée Edition, which represents the 172nd recreation of Champagne’s most generous expression.
