Then Krug considers the elements they want to keep from the last harvest for their reserves and finally they decide if they have the right components to make a vintage from that year. The art of blending so many different years gives Krug Grande Cuvée its unique fullness of flavours and aromas, impossible to express with the wines of just a single year. The Edition number identifies a specific creation of Krug Grande Cuvée; it corresponds to the number of years in the House of Krug the founder’s dream has been recreated. Krug Cellar Master Julie Cavil together with the tasting committee recorded over 4000 tasting notes to consult before any blending decision was made, tasting around 250 wines of the year several times and 150 reserve wines from 14 different years.
