Planted in 1998 by Jerry Milbrandt, the vineyard stretches along steep cliffs above the Columbia Gorge in the state’s newest AVA, Ancient Lakes. This vineyard produces grapes with a strong mineral character and high acidity. Inspired by a fight scene in a famous martial arts film, the Kung Fu Girl cuvée was born: a Riesling with character, designed to accompany Asian cuisine in particular. Medium-bodied, this 100% Riesling is beautifully balanced with a bright nose of white peach and floral aromas that fill the senses. The palate is refreshing and tangy. Bright citrus flavours such as Meyer lemon fill the palate, leading to a lively acidic finish.
