A wonderful combination of stalwart Rhône Valley varieties – Syrah and Grenache. Syrah makes up the lion’s share of the blend, around 85% in total, layering the wine with lashings of blackcurrant fruit character and heaps of drinkability. Grenache makes up the rest, playing the supporting role, lending spicier notes, and polishing the finish thanks to a little more natural alcohol in the grapes at harvest time. Winemaker Cedric Ragues is top-chap and putting the blends together are great fun and an annual highlight in the buying calendar.
