L’idiot2024–MaisonVentenac

Olivier Ramé, the winemaker, has decided to break away from the specifications of the local AOC to give free rein to his creativity in the ‘Dissidents’ range, where all the cuvées are Vin de France. His watchword: to make wines that are easy to drink, accessible to all and that break with the traditional codes of wine. The cuvée Idiot is inspired by the film “Sideway” and the cult line “I am not drinking any f*** Merlot!” The winemaker wanted to give Merlot back its letters of nobility and let people know that, when properly vinified and matured, it gives “a nice, punchy juice”! In short, this is a Merlot that’s full of pep, minerality and deliciousness.
