With several years’ experience abroad, as well as working alongside Stéphane Montez in the Rhône Valley, it was in 2014 that Bastien Jolivet decided to take over his father’s estate. A real rising star in the world of wine, Bastien has managed to impose his style and win people over with his talent and the remarkable quality of his wines! This “Instinct” cuvée is a Saint-Joseph made from old vines with a south-easterly exposure, aged in French oak barrels. The result is a wine with perfectly controlled oak, full of finesse and singular elegance. The nose is intense and spicy, with hints of black fruit. On the palate, there is an explosion of blackberry, black pepper and cocoa on the finish. This Saint-Joseph goes perfectly with meats in sauce such as leg of lamb or duck breast. A must-try for lovers of powerful, well-balanced red Saint-Josephs. Make the most of it, because the growing success of the Jolivet estate will soon make it a rare commodity.
