Whereas a full-blooded Amarone is made completely from dried grapes, the L’Ornato is a blend of juice from dried grapes combined with their estate-level Corvinone, Corvina and Cabernet Sauvignon which are fermented more traditionally. The result is a really smooth, huge red with masses of cherry and blackcurrant fruit, complex spicy and herbal notes and possesses the spirit of a top-drawer Amarone, but at a snip of the price.

  • Made using the ‘appassimento’ method of air drying grapes, like they do for Amarone.
  • Enormous amounts of rich, ripe fruit with persistent, velvety tannins and a wonderfully mouth-filling feel.
  • Serve with rich Italian dishes like a hearty tomato based pasta, or a big meaty stew.
