Rich & Balanced Chenin Blanc from Stellenbosch

Pale straw colour with notes of white nectarine, pineapple, yellow apple, and dried herbs. 14 months on the gross lees adds additional complexity of brioche and creamy texture. The palate is rich, with a lovely balance of lingering lemon and lime peel, and a structure that supports ageing.

Food Pairing: Veal, chicken, turkey, pork chop, trout, smoked salmon and also soft to semi-firm cow’s milk cheeses, such as triple-cream brie, gruyere or cream cheese.

STORY BEHIND THE WINE

Laibach winery was established in 1995 and is committed to making wine with minimal intervention to show what the special Simonsberg-Stellenbosch deep red soils (Clovelly and Glenrosa) can produce. On the whole farm , very little irrigation is used with reliance on the deep clay soil to keep the roots cool and happy . Laibach Vineyards was purchased by neighbouring world renowned winery Kanonkop Estate in April 2022, and renamed to ‘’Ladybird Vineyards’.
