A rare, fully mature Schiava/Vernatsch from the shores of Lake Caldaro—perfumed, feather-light and savoury. Pale brick-garnet with a tawny rim; aromas of dried strawberry and redcurrant, rosehip, almond and orange peel, with tea leaf, cedar and a gentle spice/herbal lift. Light-bodied and silky on the palate: lively alpine acidity carries red-berry fruit, dried herbs and a hint of amaretti; tannins are ultra-fine and resolved. The finish is delicate, tapering and graceful with rosehip, citrus zest and soft spice.
