LaTorreta2023–DomaineGardiès

The Torreta cuvée is a tribute to Malvoisie, the indigenous Catalangrape varietythat the estate has replanted on its black schist terroirs. Malvasia has the great advantage of being a late-ripening grape variety that stands up very well to the heat and brings an enormous amount of freshness and pizzazz to the wines. The winemaker has chosen to blend it with Macabeu, which adds fullness and roundness for impeccable balance. On the palate, the wine is beautifully smooth and fresh, with a finish of candied lemon and aniseed notes and a hint of oxidation, giving it a unique character.
