The second wine of Château Smith Haut Lafitte, a GravesGrand CruClassé, Hauts de Smith is vinified in the same superb underground cellar as the grand vin. Made from the château’s young vines, it has magnificent, spicy aromas of black cherry and black plum. The palate is medium-bodied, with lovely tannins and a lively, elegant finish. This second wine will get you as close to the grand vin as possible, while keeping you as far away from its price tag as possible!
