Sans The earliest Aqua Vitae was made at Lindores Abbey around 1494. The current distillery team have gone to some lengths to recreate the recipe, re-imagining it as a versatile, contemporary spirit. Made on-site using locally grown green herbs such as Douglas fir, cleavers, sweet cicely as well as spices and dried fruits, the botanicals are blended with pot distilled spirit resulting in a quasi-gin-styled elixir that makes delicious mixed drinks. To get you started, try 50ml over ice in a Highball glass, topped with Ginger Ale, and garnish with a twist of orange. As it was when first conceived, the product is entirely natural, with no added sugars. 40% Alc./Vol.
