The House of Louis Jadot has been producing exceptional Burgundy wines since its founding in 1859 by Louis Henry Denis Jadot. For the past 150 years Louis Jadot has continued as one of the great names of Burgundy and has gained international reputation for its superb red and white Burgundy wines. Louis Jadot is not only one of the largest producers of estate Burgundies of the Cote d’Or, it is one of the most celebrated exporters of premium Burgundies, owning close to 140 acres of vineyards from 24 of the most prestigious sites in Burgundy.rrLocation: Puligny-Montrachet and Chassagne-Montrachet sit at the heart of the Côte de Beaune sector often referred to as the Côte des Blancs, alongside Meursault, an area famed for the predominance and quality of its white wines. Puligny-Montrachet lies directly south of Meursault and north of Chassagne-Montrachet, and the two villages share several of the world’s greatest white wine vineyards. Les Referts, a Premier Cru of Puligny-Montrachet, lies close to the Meursault border, just below Les Combettes. Its very stony clay-limestone soils are well drained and warm easily, contributing to wines of depth and structure.rrVineyard: The Clos de la Garenne is located next to Les Folatières, on a stony soil close to the mother rock. This vineyard is very old and belongs to the The Duc of Magenta properties. This family trusts Maison Louis Jadot to vinify this wine as well as Chassagne-Montrachet Morgeot Clos de la Chapelle.rrVinification and Maturation: Grapes are harvested by hand and put in small cases in order not to damage the fruits. Grapes are pressed softly, they ferment in oak barrels produced by the CADUS cooperage. 1/3 are new barrels. Aging usually lasts 15 months on fine lies before bottling.rrWeather in 2015: A slow start gave way to a hot, dry growing season with rapid flowering and an early harvest. Despite some drought stress and low red yields, grapes were well balanced—especially whites with striking acidity—making 2015 a great vintage for both reds and whites.rrTechnical Information: rRegion: Côte de BeaunerVineyards: Clos de la GarennerGrape Varities: 100% ChardonnayrDrink: Now to 2032rrTasting Note: An expressive bouquet with good fruit concentration: dried honey, orange zest and a touch of pralines developing in the glass. The palate is fresh on the entry with a keen thread of acidity, nicely balanced with a harmonious and focused finish. â€?Tasted by Neal Nartin
