The House of Louis Jadot has been producing exceptional Burgundy wines since its founding in 1859 by Louis Henry Denis Jadot. For the past 150 years Louis Jadot has continued as one of the great names of Burgundy and has gained international reputation for its superb red and white Burgundy wines. Louis Jadot is not only one of the largest producers of estate Burgundies of the Cote d’Or, it is one of the most celebrated exporters of premium Burgundies, owning close to 140 acres of vineyards from 24 of the most prestigious sites in Burgundy.rrLocation: This vineyard is located on a gentle slope, between 230 and 360 metres above sea level. The eastern orientation is ideal, allowing maximum sunlight. Chalky soils with white marl are best suited to the Chardonnay grape. The Premier Cru Meursault-Blagny appellation applies to white wines only.rrVineyard: Maison Louis Jadot produces a rich full-bodied wine, traditionally vinified in oak to yield a well structured cuvée which balances firmness with ripe fruit flavours. Notes of oak and vanilla in the bouquet are confirmed on the palate and carry into a sustained finish.rrVinification & Maturation: Grapes are harvested by hand and put in small cases in order not to damage the fruits. Grapes are pressed softly, they ferment in oak barrels produced by the CADUS cooperage. 1/3 are new barrels. The palate is well balanced with a waxy-textured, quite deep opening. Flecked with white chocolate and apricot and a little peachy toward the finish, but there is always fine tension here thanks to Blagny’s cooler microclimate.
