Louis Roederer Cristal 2015 is a highly esteemed Grande Marque’s prestige cuvée, and is one of Champagne’s most iconic wines. Cristal 2015 was assembled from 45 plots from 7 villages, including Verzenay, Verzy, Beaumont-sur-Vesle, Aÿ, Avize, Le Mesnil-sur-Oger and Cramant. Each plot was vinified separately, so as to fully express each vineyard’s soil and microclimate. The vineyards are cultivated using biodynamic methods, augmenting the relationship between the vines, soil, and light. 25% of the wine was fermented in oak barrel, adding a layer of richness and complexity, and malolactic fermentation is avoided, maintaining the freshness and purity of the fruit. Ageing on lees sur latte lasted for between 6 and 7 years, and the bottles were held back for a further 6 to 12 months post-disgorgement.

This masterpiece is true to Cristal’s signature style, with incredible precision and complex yet delicate perfume. There is no doubt that the rich and toasty side of Cristal will be revealed after 5 to 10 years of further ageing.
