Cuvée 4-5 is a uniqueMummblend ofChardonnay(40%) andPinot Noir(60%) from terroirs classified asGrand Cru . Miné- ral, frank and lively, the Pinot Noir from Verzenay gives the wine fresh, generous and fruity aromas, while the Pinot Noir from the south-facing vineyards of Aÿ and Bouzy adds power and vinosity on the palate. The Char- donnay from Cramant produces an elegant, generous wine with fruity, tangy citrus notes, which blends perfectly with the crisp, clean Chardonnay from Avize. To create Cuvée 4.5, these grapes are pressed and vinified separately, before being blended with reserve wines (20%). The liqueur de dosage (6 grams of sugar per litre), the final touch to the cuvée, is made from the same Grand Cru grapes. Aged for a minimum of four years in cellars and made from five Grand Cru wines, this Champagne takes its name from its characteristics: Cuvée 4-5.
