Michael Schmelzer’s focus has always been on the unique characteristics of his individual vineyard sites in the area around Panzano in Chianti Classico. The Sa’Etta vineyard is the pinnacle of the whole estate, with only the best grapes getting through a strict selection making it into this Riserva, so it really doesn’t get any better than this! The reflective sandstone soil is great for developing even ripeness in the grapes, and the high quartz content gives a lovely fine-grained texture on the freshest palate.
