Norte Chico Merlot from the Central Valley in Chile is a great example of varietal wine making that is consistently high quality and value for money. This Chilean red wine is full of the archetypal Merlot characteristics of very ripe plums and damsons together with a little spice. The fruit tastes very juicy and has a lovely mouth filling taste that lingers. It is fermented in stainless steel tanks and bottles quickly to retain it’s natural fresh taste.

Norte Chico wines are produced for by the Santa Carolina winery which is one of the wineries with the longest history in Chile. It was founded in 1875 by Luis Pereira, it is recognized for producing a wide portfolio of wines ofconsistent quality. It is in the heart of Santiago and in its almost 150 years, it has been constantly praised by the press and specialized critics.Among them, the first international recognition for a Chilean wine stands out, which was awarded to our Santa Carolina Reserva de Familia Cabernet Sauvignon wine in 1889 during the Exposition Universelle in Paris.
