Born on the granite slopes of Franschhoek and Darling, Anthonij Rupert Optima 2021 expresses a late, slow and steady vintage, where freshness and maturity combine beautifully. A harmonious blend ofCabernet Sauvignon ,Merlot ,Cabernet Francand a touch ofMalbec , this exceptional red is made from optically sorted grapes, vinified in concrete and stainless steel vats, then aged for 20 months in French barrels (30% new) and two years in the bottle before release. Dense and complex, it displays notes of blackberry, black cherry, mocha and sweet spices on the nose, while the silky, structured and long palate combines black fruit, a touch of toast and integrated freshness for a racy and velvety finish. The result is an exceptional vintage, producing remarkable, accessible wines with wonderful ageing potential.
