The Palmer 50 Years Old Aged Tawny Portbelongs to the exclusive and rare type of blended tawny port with age indication. The quantities produced are of course, very small. VWP are exclusive importers of the Palmer 50 Tear Tawny.

Tasting Notes :

The Palmer 50 Year tawny is the premium Port blended by legendary wine-makerAlvaro Van Zeller from his best stocks of aged tawny blend to give an average age of 50 years. The 50-year category was approved in 2022.

The Palmer 50 Year old has a concentrated dark tawny colour with green highlights that show around the rim of the glass. There is a beautiful pronounced aroma intensity of rich Christmas cake with walnuts and baked cherry infused with nutmeg. On the palate the wine is very balanced between a slightly basalmic acidity and a sweetness that gives a luxurious mouthfeel. Lovely richness of fruitcake, fig, baked, cherry, cooked strawberry. This port has a lovely, rich and sublimely long finish. Glorious!

STORAGE The wine is ready to drink and does not require decanting. The bottle should be kept upright protected from direct sunlight.
