This wine represents an excellent entry priced option from what has become the world’s most exclusive and expensive wine producing region, Burgundy. The wine comes from Patrice and Maxime Rion, set up by Patrice in 1990 whose son later joined him in 2005. They are a very highly respected, small-scale producers crafting classic wines of great intensity and balance. This, for us, is an amazing ‘gateway wine’ to the more illustrious regions found in the Côte de Nuits. With lovely red berry and cherry fruit, gentle spice and a silkiness to the palate that is supple and superbly well structured.
