For years Virgin Wines customers have loved the Perez Cruz wines, packed with intense dark berry fruits and lots of oak. And thanks to the great relationship that we have with winemaker Germán Lyon, he has given us a rare opportunity to get hold of this brand new wine – which is something a bit left field of their usual style. This Grenache has all the signature opulence you’d come to expect from a Perez Cruz red but it is dripping in red cherry and raspberry fruit with a hint of cracked pepper – and crucially there is no oak contact on this wine, making it incredibly juicy and pure. Germán told us that he wanted to show that Perez Cruz can deliver summertime drinking reds, and we think he’s nailed it! This Grenache has been made in very small quantities (only 1000 cases were made – of which we snapped up 300) from prized vines in their Fundo Liguai de Huelquin vineyard, which deliver wines of great intensity.
