Nino Pieropan was a pioneer of epic proportions for the wine of Soave, putting it very much on the fine wine map back in the 1970s. The region’s wine production went through various changes in the decades between then and now but Nino remained true to his philosophy throughout – to make expressive wines that reflect the soil that they come from. He was the first to bottle a single vineyard Soave and ‘La Rocca’ is one of his prized parcels of land that he leaves to the younger Pieropan generations headed now by Dario.
