A Bolgheri Superiore with a True Bordeaux Blend

An elegant, robust, opulent and intense red wine. Vineyards are cultivated with an ancestral method called “settonce” with a vine training called Alberello or Bush system. This wine is made from a blend of 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Cabernet Franc & 5% Petit Verdot.

Its structure is complex and the tannins wonderfully ripe and silky. Notes of blackcurrant, blackberries. Leather and coffee are dominant. Eclectic and full of character on the palate.

STORY BEHIND THIS WINE

Bolgheri DOC is one of the most thrilling wine producing areas in Italy. In the Maremma on the Tuscan coast the wines emanating are sensational. Neighbours to this property include Sassicaia, Ornellaia, Masseto. Grattamacco is firmly of this ilk. l’Alberello is the 2nd wine of Gratttamacco and is made from the fruit of a 2ha vineyard.
