Préface comes from the Latin “prae”: before, and “fari”: to speak. It is the estate’s first cuvée, preparing the way for those that follow and inviting you to discover them. This first cuvée from the estate opens the ball with a pure and authentic Syrah, from vines aged between 30 and 90 years old and planted on schist and gneiss terroirs. Careful ageing for 14 months in 500-litre barrels and demi-muids brings an elegant structure and beautiful aromatic complexity. The nose opens with notes of ripe black fruits, sweet spices and violets, while the palate reveals a silky and intense texture, carried by a beautiful mineral freshness and perfectly integrated tannins. A wine shaped by a moderate continental climate, granitic soils and precise expertise, revealing a Syrah of great finesse. An ideal companion for grilled red meats, herb-crusted leg of lamb or mature cheeses.
