Chenin blanc’s spiritual (and indeed, actual) home is in France – the Loire Valley to really dial in on it. There the varietal is produced as still, sparkling, lusciously sweet, bone dry, off dry… it is a little riesling-eque in its versatility. As so many French natives find their way offshore, so too has chenin blanc. In the modern wine making era, world-leading examples are produced in South Africa, South America, and closer to home in Margaret River. Here are three such examples.
