Such wines are typically less fruity and more nuanced compared to Ruby Port and reveal amber colour with aromas of dried fruits, toasted nuts, caramel, and occasionally a hint of spice or vanilla. On the palate it should be smooth and balanced, with notes of nuts, dried fruits (such as figs and raisins), caramel, and hints of citrus peel.
