We are delighted to make available a very special vintage collection case from Quinta do Noval, comprising the following six wines:

This impressive vertical includes the famous double-declaration wines from 2016 and 2017, flanked by the equally impressive 2015 and 2018 releases. It also includes “collector’s items” gems from the tiny releases of 2012 and 2014. The quality across the range is exceptional, with all wines scoring above 17.0 on Jancis Robinson and garnering equally impressive scores from publications such as Wine Spectator, Wine Enthusiast, and World of Fine Wine.

Since 2011, Quinta do Noval has successfully made a vintage port from every harvest. This departure from the conventional 2 or 3 declarations in a decade is partly inspired by its radical declaration of the 1931 vintage, which subsequently came to be regarded as one of the best vintages of the 20th century, and certainly the best vintage to not have been universally declared. Noval see this as proof that the quality of the vintage, not the market, should be the only determining factor in whether a Vintage Port is made. The decision to declare more frequently has also been spurred on by the huge advancements this century in viticultural and technical practices in the Douro. Noval argue (and we agree!) that this has allowed them to consistently make a Vintage quality Port every year.
