Made from 27-year-old vines rooted in the deep red soils of Durbanville, Diemersdal’s Pinotage Reserve 2023 embodies the authenticity of South Africa’s iconicgrape variety , particularly in the coastal region of Durbanville. Grown without irrigation on slopes exposed to Atlantic breezes, this 100% Pinotage benefits from a cool climate that promotes slow ripening and intense varietal expression. Vinified in open vats with regular pumping over, then aged for 16 months in French oak barrels (40% new), it offers a full-bodied and refined structure. On the palate, it reveals deep, full-bodied aromas of black fruit, plum, dark chocolate and sweet spices, supported by ripe tannins and a lovely freshness. Its long, persistent and harmonious finish reflects the expertise of the Louw family, which has been passed down through six generations.
