DrLoosenis renowned as one of Germany’s greatest winemakers, and this dry Riesling is a perfect introduction to his work. The Erdener Treppchen Kabinett 2023 is deep and flinty on the fresh nose, very aromatic around pineapple, ripe peach, aromatic herbs and spicy notes, resting on its red and blue slate terroir. Ageing in oak and on the lees gives this wine fullness and great ageing potential. Round on the palate, this is a rich Kabinett, but its saline, savoury, crisp finish is truly exhilarating. A perfect match for a sea bream ceviche, for example!
