AGrand Cruthat might make you forget the white Burgundies at much higher prices than this! Indeed, the clay-sandstone terroir of Kaefferkopf gives the wine a pure, complex, mineral nose with fine herbal notes (especially gentian). The palate is both fleshy, powerful, tense and mineral (with a slight bitterness conferred by the sandstone). This is a beautiful wine to keep in the cellar and it will develop its fine “petroleumâ€?notes typical of this terroir.
