The challenge for the vines at Kitterlé is to succeed in putting down roots in poor soil. The south/south-eastern part of the KitterléGrand Cruis made up of sandstone conglomerate or Buntsandstein pudding, while the south/western flank is made up of grauwackes or volcanic sediments. The roots are intimately linked to the earth. This element provides the vine with the anchoring it needs to develop. This Riesling has a clean, crisp attack, with well-controlled acidity that structures the wine perfectly. The palate is well-balanced, with flavours of fresh fruit and citrus, underpinned by a salivating minerality that gives it length and depth.
