Vintage after vintage, Markus Molitor’s wines are praised by the greatest critics for their freshness and strong personality. These are top-class wines, typical of their terroir. The Riesling Zeltinger Sonnenuhr Auslese (white capsule) is sublime, nuanced and complex. This is one of the most exciting vineyards in the Moselle, where Molitor has by far the majority. The wine is pure and intense, with astonishing finesse and complexity, recalling aromas of warm ripe stone fruit and chamomile, as well as hints of almond cake and weathered slate. On the palate, this is a spectacularly good Auslese with a concentrated yet immaculate texture, on a refreshingly saline finish.
