From the outstanding 2001 vintage—considered one of the best in Rioja in recent decades—this Reserva is a fully mature, traditionally styled Rioja red, showing all the hallmarks of extended oak and bottle aging.

In the glass, it reveals a garnet hue with amber tinges on the rim. The bouquet is fragrant and layered, with aromas of dried cherry, redcurrant, and plum, alongside cedar, vanilla, clove, tobacco leaf, leather, and earthy notes. Subtle balsamic and herbal tones (bay leaf, thyme) add further nuance.

The palate is medium-bodied with finely integrated tannins and bright yet mellow acidity. Flavours of stewed red fruits, toasted coconut, old wood, and savoury spice unfold gracefully. The finish is long, smooth, and quietly complex—classic aged Rioja character.
