Bordeaux Blend from Simonsberg-Stellenbosch

This Bordeaux blend is a powerful wine that will reward ageing. Cassis, blackcurrant and tobacco dominate with softening tannins. The wine is named for a former owner John Xavier Merriman, who played a great role in revitalising the area of Rustenberg.

STORY BEHIND THIS WINE

Founded in 1682 the Rustenberg Estate has been in hands of the Barlow family since 1941. They farm their 110 HA of vines in this varied estate with great care and precision; a range of different slopes and aspects allow for site specific plantings, which in turn helps enhance the varietal characteristics of their range of wines.
