Sans Sagamore are based in Baltimore, Maryland, a state that held one-third of the US rye whiskey supply in 1939. They’re committed to putting Maryland back on the map as the premier distiller of rye. The company started out sourcing from MGP distillery in Lawrenceburg, but as of 2017 began distilling their own whiskeys from two different straight ryes â€?a high rye content and a lower rye content which allows corn and malted barley to play a larger role. This yields smoother and sweeter notes in the finished product.Whiskies are matured for seven years before being blended in small batches. Each barrel ages to a slightly different proof, which means batches will land at a slightly different ABV.
