A deeply expressive Coteaux du Layon. The vines grow in clay-shale soil on the right bank of the Layon River. The river brings a favourable micro-climate for botrytis with manual harvests carried out in successive selection of botrytised grapes. The wine is then fermented and aged in vats for seven months. The nose reveals notes of jammy apricot, pineapple and honey. The palate is soft and complex with a tangy finish. It can be enjoyed young and fruity or stored for 15 years, or even a few decades. With age, the aromas will develop towards honey and spices.
