Sancerre Roblin Terre Blanches has super ripe fruit which is very characteristic of this vintage and with good balance having been picked early to maintain some freshness with lovely aromas of white currants and nettles.

Their vineyards, planted with 85% Sauvignon Blanc & 15% Pinot Noir, are worked sustainably, organically where possible so no insecticides and no anti-rot treatments are needed. Grass grows between the vines to help combat erosion and improve ripeness; green harvesting restrains yields. The terres blanches chalky clay soils soil around the vines is ‘workedâ€?to encourage better microbial activity. It is easier and cheaper to treat the vineyards with herbicides but the result is a barren, lifeless soil and they believe it produces poorer quality grapes. The vineyards are worked sustainably and organically where possible.

In the winery, intervention is minimal so no pumping is undertaken and the wine has a time aging on lees. The wine is fermented in stainless steel tanks with lees aging for six months producing a wine style that is very pure, fruit forward yet fine and really top quality.
