This wine offers an aromatic bouquet of forest fruits and delicate floral undertones, framed by subtle notes of toast. The palate is juicy and fresh, delivered with fine acidity that provides excellent lift. Texturally, it is smooth, concluding with soft, integrated tannins for a gentle finish.

STORY BEHIND THE WINE

Founded by Alexandre Relvas Sr., the 430-acre Herdade of São Miguel in Alentejo is now run by his son, Alexandre. The estate honours Portuguese heritage with 86 acres planted to native varieties like Touriga Nacional and Alicante Bouschet. The Alentejo’s extreme climate and clay/schist soils develop three-dimensional flavours. The family emphasises quality and sustainability, with 20% of vineyards certified organic and increasing, employing hundreds of Merino sheep for natural fertilization, and dedicated cork oak forests.
