STORY BEHIND THE WINE

Domaine des Roches Neuves, run by Thierry Germain in Varrains near Saumur, spans about 28 ha over 61 plots of tuffeau-limestone soils in Loire Valley’s Saumur‑Champigny and Saumur appellations. Since taking over in 1991, Germain has championed biodynamic viticulture, emphasizing minimal intervention, soil vitality, hand harvesting, and natural ferments.
