The leading producer of D.O. Getariako Txakolina, the Txueka Etxaniz family has been dedicated to vine growing for generations.

Txomin Etxaniz has 35 hectares of protected, sloped vineyards in Getaria where they grow two native types of grape; Hondarrabi Zuri (90%) and Hondarrabi Beltza (10%), which are harvested at the start of October and then made into txakoli in their wineries.

Harvest is done by hand and transported to the winery in 20 kg boxes. At the winery the grapes undergo further selection. This is followed by vinification at a controlled temperature, pneumatic pressing in an inert atmosphere, then fermenting at a controlled temperature and ageing sur lie until bottling.
