Made from equal partsCabernet SauvignonandCabernet Franc , Tolaini’s Valdisanti 2021 is a lush expression with a massive, straightforward delivery of bold black fruit. On the palate, this intensity fades somewhat to reveal a silky, elegant, medium to full-bodied approach. The attack is soft and velvety, with notes of clove, vanilla, cherry, chocolate and balsamic. The elegant tannins, well balanced with the fruit, reflect the optimal ripeness of the grapes. The long, juicy, fresh and pleasant finish, with its crispness and texture, expresses the authentic character of Sangiovese from Castelnuovo Berardenga. Although ready to drink now, this cuvée will benefit from a decade or so of ageing in the bottle.
