Veritas–2024–Vignobledel’Ecu

Veritas is an organicand biodynamic red wine from Muscadet in Loire Valley produced by Claire and Fred Niger at their estate Domaine de l’Ecu.

100% Pinot Noir from organically and biodynamically farmed vines (certified by Demeter and Biodyvin) planted on a one-hectare parcel, south/southwest-facing, on an orthogneiss subsoil. The grapes were harvested by hand with yields around 35-40 hl/ha. The grapes are moved by gravity (and all work is done by gravity). Natural vinification, total destemming, 8 days of maceration of the berries, followed by pneumatic pressing, 10 months of aging in concrete tanks. Bottled without fining, without filtration, just a micro-dose of sulphur.
