STORY BEHIND THE LABEL

Established in 1745, Vieux Château Certan, a historic Pomerol estate, epitomises Bordeaux’s winemaking legacy. Under Charles de Bousquet and later the Thienpont family, their minimal intervention philosophy yields brilliant wines. Blending savoir-faire with exceptional soils, these wines require patient cellaring for a unique, inimitable style.

Covering 14 contiguous hectares, the Vieux Certan vineyard benefits from a unique terroir and meticulous care, resulting in Pomerol wines celebrated for their aromatic finesse and sophisticated elegance. The vintage was defined by a wet winter and a mild spring that encouraged an early, uniform flowering, followed by a hot, dry summer that naturally tempered the vines’ vigor. These conditions culminated in an early harvest of exceptional quality, yielding a more concentrated and limited production than in previous years
