Ciacci Piccolomini d’Aragona’s Pianorosso cuvée is exceptional! The wine is made from 100% Sangiovese grapes grown on the 11.69 hectares of the Pianrosso vineyard. The vines grow on medium-grained soil with decent levels of marl. The wine ferments and matures in stainless steel and glass concrete vats, then ages for over 3 years in Slovenian oak barrels, followed by 12 months in bottle. It leaves a ruby red colour with an intense aromatic bouquet of red berries and various spices. This wine is complex, fruity, powerful and ethereal. It has soft, pronounced tannins and a long aftertaste. This Brunello can be aged in the bottle for many years. A sensational wine for special occasions!
