Vina Albergada was founded by Jesus Blanco and Luis Rodriguez and is situated at Lanciego in the Alavesa sub-region of Rioja. Alavesa lies to the north of the River Ebro and it’s limestone and clay soil is perfectly suited to the lighter style of Rioja on offer here. The estate’s vineyards are located in Lanciego and Oion and only two grapes are grown: Tempranillo (95%) and Viura (5%). Over the years as the business has expanded, new concrete vats and a barrel cellar have been added thereby allowing the estate to expand. This great-value red is from young, mainly declassified Rioja vines and is packed with red berry aromas. Designed to be drunk young.
