Vitae–2022–Vignobledel’Ecu

Vitae 2022 from Domaine de l’Ecu is a natural red wine produced by Fred and Claire Niger. Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon, biodynamic wine.

70% Cabernet Sauvignon and 30% Cabernet Franc from vines cultivated biodynamically and planted on Gneiss and Orthogneiss subsoils, facing southeast, covering a total surface of 0.8 ha. Harvested by hand, this cuvée was vinified by Claire Niger: the Cabernet Sauvignon is destemmed by hand followed by 8 months of maceration on the skins in amphorae, while the Cabernet Franc has a short maceration the followed by one year of maturation in amphorae. Blended before bottling, without fining or filtration, just a micro-dose of sulphur.
