Full tasting note and wine making /h2>
All the components where aged separately in French oak barrel for 18 months and blended by our winemaking team before bottling. The wine had 24 months in French oak barrels of which 22% was new oak, 9% was 2nd fill, 21% was 3rd fill, 48% was 4th fill. This allows the fruit of the wine to be the hero without the oak creating a dominance. The older barrels allow micro-oxygenation in the wine without adding any oak flavour.Warwick Estate Three Cape Ladies is a classy Cape blend that oozes as much style as it does history. The first Cape blend in South Africa originally launched in 1997 and like now was filled with heady red fruit notes then overlaid with a densely briary smack. This is a wine that is perfect to drink young while the plums are jumping out of the glass and the spice is at stratospheric levels, but if you age it, the savouriness will start to make the fruit more subtle, and licorice will emerge. It can easily age for up to 10 years, if you are patient enough to wait.
The producer /h2>
Warwick Estate is a family-owned and run winery. Warwick matriarch Norma Ratcliffe was one of the first female winemakers in South Africa and her legacy is immortalised in the irrepressible Warwick ‘The First Ladyâ€?Cabernet Sauvignon; one of South Africa’s leading wines. Warwick Estate is a leading Cabernet Sauvignon producer, with the Warwick Trilogy Bordeaux blend approaching its 30th year of production.Warwick Estate has a very long and rich history in South Africa. From 1771 until 1902, Colonel William Alexander Gordon, Commanding Officer of the Warwickshire regiment, decided against returning to England and instead bought the farm. Warwick was purchased in 1964 by Stan Ratcliffe, after an extensive search for the best terroir in the Cape. Together with his new bride Norma, they soon realised the potential of the extraordinary property and began planting Cabernet Sauvignon.

A good char grilled steak are a perfect match, but try it with a fiery chilli sauce or slow cooked pork belly with extra crispy crackling, with a salty, Hoisin sauce for dipping.
