The Balvenie French Oak 16 Years Old is a single malt finished in casks that previously contained wine from the French vineyards of Charentes: Pineau. Pineau des Charentes is a fortified wine made from unfermented grape juice, to whichCognac brandyis added and then left to age. Years of maturation in American oak casks bring an abundance of vanilla, spice and warm notes of holly. The finish in Pineau casks creates notes of grapefruit, geranium, candied fruit and ginger. Non-chill filtered.
