Wildeberg‘ElementSelection’Mourvedre2024

This wine was a bit of a surprise whilst barrel tasting at the Wilderberg Winery in Franschhoek, being made from 100% Mourvèdre. A variety that is almost exclusively used as a blending component because it is powerful and when unblended can be a little overwhelming. That isn’t the case here, the wine is clean and pure, with dark cherry and raspberry, wonderfully full-bodied, exceptionally juicy, and perfectly balanced.
